Tower of Nenadovic family

Tower certainly became a symbol of our town. Built in spring 1813, next to road to Sabac, at the edge of Klicevac hill. For the purpose of armory, it was built by Jakov Nenadovic and his son Jevrem. Construction material was stone from an older Vitkovica tower. Later, Turks turned it to a prison.

Letely reconstructed and preserved, the tower will soon host adequate exhibition in the memory of those days.

Mihajlo Valtrovic rewardMuseum of Valjevo was radically refreshed in the period from 2001, growing from devastated to awarded institution. In the years 2001 and 2008, Museum association of Serbia awards us with Mihajlo Valtrovic reward.

Main exhibition

Third dimension of the past – a view from the futureIs placed in the Museums main building, along with offices and we named it Third dimension of the past – a view from the future. Main building is located in the town centre, near Grand hotel and pedestrian zone. Just next to it, you will find Muselim’s house, dedicated to days of Serbian upraising against the Turkish reign. Exhibition is named Decapitation of dukes, in the memory of tribunes killed by Turks.
