This well known place is only 11 km away from Valjevo, on the road to Sabac. It is unique cultural and historical entity famous by its monuments and distinguished persons. One of the oldest villages of this area became famous during 18th century Serbian uprisings against the Turks, as birth place of Nenadovic family. Local church, built in 1830, surrounded by old trees, provides eternal shelter to their graves. Just steps from the church, lies the burial site of Desanka Maksimovic, one of the greatest Serbian poet. Church of holy Archangel treasures a number of old books, ikons and other interesting items. A set of old wood made cabins along with two school buildings complete this unique area, where you can actually feel the spirit of old days. |
