Birth house of duke Zivojin Misic (1855-1921)

One of the most important military commanders in WWI was born in a quiet village Struganik. Restored houses are offering nice picture of old Serbian architecture while exhibition presents the life and military career of Zivojin Misic. His genious leadership made Serbian army victorious in many occasions, such as Battle of Kolubara.

Mihajlo Valtrovic rewardMuseum of Valjevo was radically refreshed in the period from 2001, growing from devastated to awarded institution. In the years 2001 and 2008, Museum association of Serbia awards us with Mihajlo Valtrovic reward.

Main exhibition

Third dimension of the past – a view from the futureIs placed in the Museums main building, along with offices and we named it Third dimension of the past – a view from the future. Main building is located in the town centre, near Grand hotel and pedestrian zone. Just next to it, you will find Muselim’s house, dedicated to days of Serbian upraising against the Turkish reign. Exhibition is named Decapitation of dukes, in the memory of tribunes killed by Turks.
